If someone legally separates, what are the legalities of this?

what if you just want your freedom back, do you have to take the 50% finances ur entitled to? or can you just tell the judge I want no cash….well maybe not 50%, just some money to get by on.
also a car was “gifted to me” but it isn’t in my name.
If your legally separated, can you still date? (no sex of course)

You may or may not be entitled to 50% or any other set amount in divorce depending on your state’s laws. If you & your future ex are in agreement on property division that is usually stipulated in the divorce filing.

You could legally “date”, but be very careful , depending on your relationship w the almost ex it could cause some problems even w no sex. Legally you are still married , & adultery could be alleged.
