Cash Gifting Legal

Question about legality of working for cash while on unemployment?

Well, last friday I got layed off from my job because of the economy. I already have a plan for my next career move, and am starting CDL school in march which will have job placement. In the meantime, my unemployment probably isn’t going to be enough to pay my child support, bills, and groceries. I also can’t take a low paying legitimate job for the same reason. Is there anyway to make working for cash while collecting UI legal, any legal loopholes, like having people sign something saying it is a gift or something? It has to be legal, I’m a christian and I won’t *break* the law. But if I can find a way over or under it I will.

Technically, no cash you earned is “legally” tax exempt. But if some one is paying you cash and they are not reporting that on a 1099 as income to you, then they also cannot deduct the expense of paying you as a tax deduction.

So there is no paper trail of the exchange of cash. It’s equivalent to speeding down a lonely highway and not getting caught.
